In 1986, Eric Nernberg earned his B.A. in English through Carnegie Mellon University and began his career as an Assistant Acquisitions Editor for a scientific publishing company based in New York.
Editing large textbooks on Polymer Science stifled his creative personality, and after a year Eric Nernberg transitioned into a more intellectually stimulating role as a writer for the national tabloid (The SUN) where he worked for about seven years.
In 1994, Eric Nernburg took a chance on a new adventure and purchased a restaurant/bar in his home town of Pittsburgh. His investment became successful - one of the busiest casual restaurants of its size in Pittsburgh - and led to the purchase of a second restaurant.
However, the restaurant business was not satisfying to somebody as adventurous as Eric Nernburg, so in 2003 he sold his belongings (and the second of his Pittsburgh based restaurants) and moved to Thailand. Ironically, he opened a new restaurant there, which quickly turned into a popular bar for visiting U.S. Marines.
After selling the restaurant, Eric Nernberg and his business partner founded a publishing company in Bangkok. Within a year, the two launched a free monthly English language magazine, a real estate magazine, and a tabloid humor newspaper.
Three years later, Eric Nernberg sold his stake in the publications and, for the first time, began to live the life he'd dreamed of in Thailand. Still inspired by adventure, Eric Nernburg continues to travel between the life he loves in Thailand and his restaurant in Pittsburgh... always looking out for the next exciting venture.
